Training at IDTR

IDTR conducts well-structured, modular, practical oriented diploma courses, viz. 3-Year Diploma in Advanced Mechatronics and Industrial Applications (DAMIA) and 4-Year Diploma in Tool and Die Making under Mechanical Engineering (DTDUM). The diploma courses are approved by AICTE. Further, the DTDUM course is equivalent to Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, approved by Jharkhand University of Technology (Department of Higher Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand).

These long duration Courses have been designed to impart training in Design and Manufacture of intricate tools like press Tools, Plastic Moulds, Die Casting Dies, Gauges, Jigs & Fixtures, etc. with the objective to provide skilled manpower to the industry in the field of Tool and Die Technology. A very modern curriculum is developed with the help of Denmark Experts, Industrialists and other professionals which focus on intensive practical exposure. The trainees are given ample opportunities for learning by doing.

IDTR also conducts ITI courses approved by NCVT. These courses cover trades like Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Tool and Die Maker, Welder, and Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance. IDTR also conducts various short term & tailor made courses to meet the demand & skills set of the Industry.


Extension Centers & Collaborations

IDTR has strategic collaborations with industry leaders such as Siemens, Samsung and PLM Enclave, to establish Centers of Excellence (CoC) in Automation and Electronics, providing training opportunities to the youth of the region. We are committed to empowering the MSME sector through innovation, expertise, and skill development initiatives.


Training Facilities Available at the Indo Danish Tool Room

A sophisticated machine shop supported by laboratories and class rooms equipped with audiovisual facilities, enable the trainees to learn in a professional environment. A team of Engineers with experience in the relevant industry make the training a unique experience. The trainees are exposed to real work situation by a series of carefully designed exercises and instructions.

The training and production wings of the Tool Room are equipped with a wide range of state of the art imported & indigenous CNC machines for manufacturing, such as CNC Milling, CNC Lathe, CNC EDM, CNC Wire EDM, Jig Grinding, Optical Profile Grinding, Profile Grinding, Water Jet Machine, CNC 3-D Coordinate Measuring Machine, along with other facilities such as 3D Printer, Vacuum Heat Treatment, etc.

Our classrooms are well equipped with modern teaching aids (OHP, LCD, Simulator), CAD/CAM Labs with various software of the latest version such as Pro-E, UG-NX, Master CAM, AutoCAD, Delcam, CATA, Solidworks, SCADA, VLSI etc.

IDTR also has a rich library for the benefit of staff and students with a huge number of technical & reference books. Separate hostel facility is available for boys and girls, along with mess and canteen. Hostel is provided to enrolled students, subject to availability.

The need for meeting the standards required by industry in manufacturing is consciously developed by our team of engineers. They help the trainees to find solutions in manufacturing Tools & Dies and their parts which are of industrial requirement. The curriculum is also designed to meet the requirements of the norms laid down for Technical Education in the country. The Syllabus is being continuously revised by a team of experts for further improvements.


How to Apply for Diploma Courses

  • The Prospectus with Application Form is available at the center's main gate which can be collected by paying a fee of Rs 700/~ for General OBC/EWS (Rs.350/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates). You can also make payment for the prospectus and application form through our SBI ONLINE COLLECT.
  • Candidates can also download the Application Form from this website and return the filled in Application Form along with online payment receipt and the category certificate, if applicable. Please check the Application Forms & Guidelines section.
  • All candidates have to submit a copy of their Aadhaar card compulsorily at the time of admission. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH candidates have to additionally submit a cast/category certificate issued by Competent Authority with their application form. Physically handicapped candidates have to submit proof of disability. Candidates should not send any original certificate along with the application form.
  • Physically handicapped candidates should be able to stand without any support and work with both hands freely. They should be capable of wearing safety shoes.
  • All applications are to be addressed to The General Manager, duly super scribed on the envelope "Application for Diploma Courses".
  • Admit cards will be issued only to the eligible candidates who shall be provided a link to download the same from this website. Where, admit cards are dispatched through postal service, IDTR will not be responsible for any postal delay.

Number of Seats

The total intake capacity in various diploma courses is as given below:

4-year Diploma in Tool & Die under Mechanical Engineering (DTDUM)300 seats
3-year Diploma in Advanced Mechatronics & Industrial Automation (DAMIA)120 seats

Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Physically Handicapped candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.


Method of Selection

Candidates who apply for admission to the course shall be required to appear for a Written Test conducted by IDTR. This Test shall be of multiple choice/objective type. Questions shall be of 10th standard and from English, Mathematics, Science, and General Knowledge/Aptitude Tests. Based on the performance of the candidates, a merit list will be prepared and candidates will be selected for admission to the course in order of merit in the test. Selected candidates will have to produce a Medical Certificate of Fitness from a Registered Medical Practitioner on a prescribed form provided in the prospectus. Color Blind Students are not advised to join the Diploma courses.

Reservation is applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/ physically handicapped & Economically Weaker Section, as per Govt. of India rules. If any SC/ ST/ OBC/ physically handicapped candidate is selected on merit in Un-Reserved Category his name will be published in the Un-reserved Category list. Caste/Category certificate should be submitted with the application form and verifiable online.
