IDTR & it's Objectives
Introduction
MSME Indo Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur, is an Autonomous Body under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. It was established in the year 1991 under the bilateral agreement between Government of India & Government of Denmark. It is a Society, registered under Societies Registration Act 21 of 1860. The Extension Centers of IDTR Jamshedpur were set up in Varanasi in 2014 & in Patna in 2015.
IDTR has state of the art facilities with sophisticated plant, machinery, Labs, Class Rooms, & other infrastructure. The Centre manufactures intricate, high precision Tools, Dies, Jigs & Fixtures, Moulds etc. & provides technological support & skilled manpower to MSMEs and Industries. The center provides solution through focused group of specialists, covering products like Plastic Injection Mould, Pressure Die Casting Dies, Jigs, Fixture and Gauges, Press Tool for Sheet Metal, Precision Machining, Hard Material Machining, Laser Calibration, Project Management, Product Development and Quality Management Consultancy. IDTR also conducts Entrepreneurship & Skill Development programs.
IDTR conducts AICTE approved Diploma Courses in Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering & Mechatronics; NCVT approved ITI courses for Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Tool & Die Maker, Welder & Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance; NSQF Courses approved by Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India & other short-term courses that include CAD/CAM/CAE & CNC Technology, PLC, VLSI, etc.
The Tool Manufacturing facilities at IDTR are comparable to the finest in the world. Also, Training provided at IDTR is one of the best in the country.
With its capacity to handle diverse needs of the different industries, IDTR is a one stop shop for providing Total Tooling Solutions for Manufacturing, Training and Consultancy Services.
Objectives
The objective of the Centre is to provide Technical Support to MSMEs & industries for manufacturing various items of Production in the state of Jharkhand and neighboring areas by providing assistance in designing, manufacturing of Tools, Dies, Jigs & Fixtures etc. for increasing productivity, improving quality and adopting improved methods of production as well as to provide skilled technical manpower to industries. - To impart Long Term & Short Term Training to youngsters in the field of Tool & Die Making with the latest technologies (and other allied Engineering Trades) both for fresher and personnel already engaged in this field.
- Provide consultancy services primarily to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises in the field of Tool Engineering aimed at and improving their productivity & import substitutability.
- Provide common facility services in precision machining / heat treatment and other technical engineering expertise in tooling to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises in the country.
- Design and manufacture of Moulds, Tools, Dies, Jigs, Fixtures etc. of high precision/quality.
- Develop intricate products through precision machining for the Research Institutes.
- Generate employment and provide skilled Manpower to MSME sectors.
- The Centre extends its facilities to the MSMEs for developing innovative products.
- The Centre extends hand holding support to budding entrepreneurs to set up their own enterprises.
- Entrepreneurship Development activities and focus on Rural & Agro Technology.
- Hand holding support to MSMEs for up gradation from industry 3.0 to industry 4.0.
- To develop import substitutes & increase export competitiveness as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

- Support business start-ups, incubation & entrepreneurship development.
- Implementation of Industry 4.0 and AI.
- Capacity augmentation of IDTR Jamshedpur & its Extension center.
- Integration of ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2015, 29990:2010, 18000, 50000 & AS9000.
- Introduction of new courses in emerging technologies.
- Mentor the establishment of Technology Centers and Extension Centers in Jharkhand, Bihar & UP under TCEC scheme.
- Increase the PM Vishwakarma training at IDTR & implement in its Extension Centers at Godda, Patna & Varanasi.
