Refractory Modifying Core

IDTR, designed and manufactured refractory modifying core with quick assembly & dis-assembly of a number of small inserts with high precision & accuracy of 0.05 mm, Under Atmanirbhar Bharat. The development is unique as the size of the core is bigger than the size of the machine available in IDTR. The core is manufactured, AG plant. Earlier these parts were imported from Japan. This initiative reduces the cost and time of manufacturing by 33%.

Punches for Automatic Strapping Machine

Developed Import substitute 6 nos. of parts for Automatic Strapping Machine for Tata Blue Scope Ltd. through Reverse Engineering with an accuracy of 0.02 mm. The average manufacturing cost is Rs 6000 per piece, a cost saving of 40% compared to the imported cost.

Auto Coupler : Under Atmanirbhar Bharat & Import Substitute

Auto Coupler is a very complicated unit meant to inject Argon Gas in Ladle. Manufactured for Tata Steel.

The device is an import substitute which was critical to manufacture at starting due its end use consideration. IDTR, Jamshedpur, took initiative as a team and tried to reverse engineer it. As a positive output team successfully produced the true copy of this. It worked with its end use successfully.

AK 203 Rifle is an advanced alternative import substitute to AK 47. This is an indigenous development as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Forming Tools for Development of Vane

IDTR designed & manufactured two Forming Tools for development of Vane with high angular tolerance, The component has critical bending operation with an accuracy level of 30 minutes (angle) being the tail part of mortar ammunition used for stabilizing the target trajectory after firing. Indigenously manufactured Under Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Press Tool to Develop the Link FOR 30MM ADEN GUN

Designed & manufactured 6 nos. Press Tools to develop the Link for 30 mm ADEN Gun - under Atmanirbhar Bharat. The profile of the link is critical, holding the bullet to create the bullet ammunition for continuous fire and smooth feed of the bullet. This is an import substitute for Ordnance Factory currently being imported from France.

IDTR designed & manufactured Forming Tools for development of mounting plate with high angular tolerance, The component has number of forming operations done in one stroke. This component is used in automobile sector for connecting loader of Trailers with the main engine.

Piercing Tool for MB Side Plate

Designed & manufactured a Piercing Tool for making holes in MB Side Plate which is further welded & whole assembly is used in automobile. In this tool both LH & RH Plate is pierced in stage & in one stroke with the hole dimension accuracy of 0.2mm. This tool is designed in such a way that the punch & die can be changed in running condition also as there were 2 components of same type just the position of ±94 hole is shifted from 170mm to 130mm.

Welding & Aligning Fixtures for Ballistic Tail of Bomb

IDTR has designed & manufactured precision welding fixture and ring alignment fixture for assembly of FIN in Ballistic Tail unit of Aerial Bomb, under Atmanirbhar Bharat. It is used for stabilizing the bomb in the trajectory during dropping with accuracy.

Analog Measuring Gauge

Designed and manufactured 130mm Analog Measuring Gauge with an accuracy of 5 microns, under Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Gauge will be used for measuring Fly Wheel inner diameter which is an export item. This initiative reduced the cost and time of manufacturing by 30%.
